Work Experience Testimonial

I have spent a week at Louise’s designer dress agency and it has been the best work experience I could ask for. From my first step into the shop, I felt welcomed and immediately at home, everyone is welcome there even dogs. Due to the shop being a family-run business, it creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere where you can be yourself. I have met Louise, Jasmine and Janis and they were all so friendly to me and built up my confidence along the way. I also received some amazing advice throughout the week on ways to run a small business and what future careers there are within fashion and how I can pursue them. 

Louise’s dress agency is a sustainable designer shop with some of the most incredible clothes made by top designers. It is hard to find a family-run business around anymore now that most shopping is done online and fast fashion exists more commonly. However, one thing you cannot get online is a personal experience and Louise’s can do that by holding one-on-one personal shopping experiences with customers. Wearing second-hand clothes is considered ‘cool’ by the younger generation these days- which it is and many celebrities also follow this ethical journey of fashion too and not to mention it is also much cheaper to buy 2nd hand. 

I enjoyed how much independence and trust I was given by Louise and Janis and there was always something to do whether it was changing the display, adding size cubes onto hangers, or simply just talking to them. They also took a real interest in me and my life and provided me with anything I needed just like they did with customers in the store. 

Overall, I have never felt so comfortable with people I had just met and they made it feel as if it wasn’t even work. I owe them a huge thank you and I highly recommend going in to visit them because even if there is nothing that stands out to you in the shop they will be sure to invite you in. Not only have I had an amazing experience I believe I have also made some amazing friends.
